Hauntcon Virtual

 Finally I am back on here.  Have not had any good news as of late.  Always something. But as of late, this week to be exact, I was able to go to Hauntcon without leaving my house. They had a virtual con online, which was a very good idea.  They had some really good classes on here which I tired to participate in. Haunt Topic had one too that I had to ask a few questions.  The good thing about the virtual con was that it was free.  I certainly couldn't afford to pay to much to go.  But it was a good time and I hope they have other like this soon.

No Halloween

 We decided that since we just got off of quarantine with COVID-19 that we would close our doors for Halloween. Its sad but I think it was the best choice. I hope next year is better.

I don't know!

This year is going to be a weird year for Halloween.  I am not sure if Halloween will even be allowed this year.  Plus, I am planning on putting in a garage this year and that might get in the way.  I really don't know what is going on this year.  I really don't.

Halloween Server

I finally got my Halloween server work great.   My main goal was to make a windows based window that would display all of what my props are doing at any given time. And I can also shut them by a command.   The black windows are me just logging into my raspberry PIs and seeing what is going on.  The props that I have connected are my video projector, my DJ transmitter, the server, and the windows 10 window shown in white.

Free Prop

Been awhile since I posted last. Been busy with other stuff. But yesterday I was giving a free prop from someone from work. Not really sure what I am going to do with it.  Maybe put my eye guy in there.  I will get back to you on that.

IR Tansmitter

I got my IR Receiver and Transmitter this week and was able to mess with it.  My goal was to get PIGPIO to work in conjunction with getting it to transmit.  I took my remote from my projector and was able to copy the code from the remote.  Then I took my transmitter and sent that same code out to the projector.  It worked like a charm.  Of course I will need to bring that code over to my main video python code, but I like what I am seeing.  Here is a quick video of how it works.  I wanted to be able to send an IR shutoff code to the projector right before the closing of each night so it has enough time to cool down.  Or I could loose a lot of lamps or bulbs.

Quick projector update

Not a whole lot was done of the software for the projector.  But I do now have it so it scans the folders for video files and then plays them in a playlist.  Then continues.  Seems to be working good. I even made a few video files that remind people to listen to my Halloween radio.  It also wishes people happy Halloween etc.  It looks good.  I did order the IR transmitter and receive the other day. I am waiting for that so I can mess with turning on the projector on and off.  Will keep you up today date.
