Hearse Show

Every year I try to make it to DragonLady Sues gor her hearse show. Normally they have it at a coffee shop but this year it will be in downtown Lemont, Il.  Will be on Aug 17th. I will post pics later.

Days keep ticken away

 

 

Yep the days keep ticken away.  Wish I could get an extra month until Halloween.  Plus my Diverticulitis keeps coming back.  Must of ate something with a seed in it.  As you can see I am still chugging along on my props for this year.  I don't like the wings of the Grim Reaper yet.  I think they need a bit of a slap to the head.  I wanted to make them larger but I changed my mind at the last second.  Now I regret it.  But I think I can make them better.  Just needs a little bit of TLC.

As you can also see that my RC Crawling dude is coming along too.  His shirt is still soaking in paint, so I will wait to try it on it.  Also need to get a few parts before the head can be put on.  But he is getting close to being done.

Next you this this weird PC board.  I have been wanting to get one ever since they came out.  It is called the Raspberry Pi board.  They cost about 35 bucks and they are just a like a computer.  My Project for next year will use this board.  Not sure if I can do, so I want talk non stop about, but when I get it and things start going like I want, I will post pics etc.

Little Cold

Just a quick note today.  Today got cold.   We have been hitting 90 to 100 lately, and now it 63.  Go figure.  So today I worked on part of the wing for my Grim Reaper and I worked on the shirt for my RC Crawling zombie.  I had some black paint, so I mixed it with glue and put it on  shirt that my girlfriend's friend gave me.  Going to let it dry over night.  I hoping it dries.  If it were 100 degrees out, it would have been done in 5 minutes.  But now we got this free look into October with the cold weather.  I can't win this year.  It either has been raining, or 100 degs out, or cold as heck.  Oh, well.  Will be back out tomorrow trying to get these projects done.  It is under 100 days until Halloween.  I can't believe it.

As you can see the RC Crawling dude is almost there. Need a few parts.

On the bad side I burned my fingers on the glue gun. Dont know how but it is welting pretty good.

Big Downer

 

Today was one of those days that don't work out.  Got the wings going but noticed that the left wing has an issue.  Going ton have to mess with it a bit to get it working.  But on the positive side, at least I got them assembled. 

 

My hands for the rc guy are not going well.  Color wise that is.   The hands need to be repainted.  I just don't like the color.

Today I am working on the hands for my crawling zombie. Also a friend gave for clothes for him. Just have to muck them up a bit.

Wings.Not the group

Been really lazy this weekend.  Couldn't do much. Worked on the head for my RC crawling dude and then I started working on the wings for my movable wings Grim Reaper.  Just didn't have it in my this weekend to move but an inch. Maybe next weekend.   Of course next weekend I am going to see Whitesnake in concert.  Yes, they are still around.

Bully Pulley

It was cool I got my RC Crawling zombie working this weekend.  He needs a few things but I am almost done.  I am so glad he is almost done.  I would like to bend the arms a bit, but not sure I have the equipment to bend them.

Another exciting thing is I finally got my pulley issue fixed on my Movable Grim Reaper Wings prop.  Been messing with it for weeks until someone on youtube explain the basics of pulley to me.  It worked like a charm.  Thanks Pulley guy from youtube.

Crawling Zombie almost there

Did a major test for the zombie today.  He was really moving good.  Even tested the head as well.  I have a small video to show you.

Cemetery break

Today I took a break from building props and went to the cemetery to get some inspiration on crypts.  Which I plan on building. Probably next year, but I thought I would start early.  Here are a few photos.  Even Capone's tombstone.

Getting tired

Yes, my back hurts, hands, you name but I am still going.   Yesterday I got the metal for my coupler on the RC Crawling Zombie.  So last night I made the coupler that will connect the right arm.  It seems to be working good, so tomorrow I will be in there making the right arm.  I have also been messing with adding a moving head as well. I got some cheap servos but I think they will do the trick.  The head is just a foam head.  Just needs to be painted.  I can't wait for this to be done.

Next I am still working on my winged Grim Reaper.  I have a few bugs with the system but I think I am on the right track.  Funny thing today is that the neighbor kid asked me to close the garage door because Grim was scaring her.  It was too hot to close the door so I put a towel over his face. LOL
